Canadian Runner Clinics are brought to you by Kelowna native and Olympian, Malindi Elmore. As a fourteen-year veteran of high level running, Malindi has excelled at running since a young age. With a strong love of running, she has always said “running chose me and not the other way around!”
Malindi Elmore is one of Canadas top middle & distance runners; she has been a member of the Canadian National team for eight years, and competed at the 2004 Olympic Games. In the pursuit of excellence and with the “dream of gold” Malindi travels across Canada and the world for training and competitions. A graduate of Stanford University and University of Calgary, Malindi has her eyes set on the 2012 Olympic Games in London. The Canadian record holder in the 1500m at the National Championships, Malindi is a five time Canadian Champion and 16 times Canadian medalist in events including 800m, 1500m, 6 km cross country, 10 km road racing and age group triathlon.
In addition to years of practical experience, conferences and high performance training camps, Malindi holds a coach membership with BC Athletics and BC Coaching Association of BC, and is currently working on her National Coaching Certificate Program (NCCP) – Competition Development (formerly level 3) certification.
Canadian Runner Clinics are also fortunate to have Nathan Reiter as a coach. A newcomer to Kelowna, Nathan is originally from Ontario and recently moved to Kelowna with his wife, Nikki. Nathan competed for 5 seasons in the CIS in track and field and cross country as a member of the McMaster Marauders and the Windsor Lancers. In coaching, Nathan has experience coaching a variety of athletes ranging in age, distance, experience and ability. A former employee of the Hamilton based running store, the Runners Den, Nate has experience working with adults training for endurance events from 5km to marathon. He is currently working towards his NCCP Competition Development certificate and, along with his wife, is the head coach of the UBCO Cross Country team.
